Level Up Program

How It Works

The Level Up Program guides athletes through a structured series of levels, each with its own set of skills. Ninjas progress at their own pace through regular skills testing, clear expectations, and coach support.

1. Initial Skills Assessment

Every new member starts with a Level Assessment to determine the best starting point.
This ensures each athlete trains at the right difficulty — not too easy, not too advanced.
Each level includes a full pool of skills taught during weekly classes.

As athletes train, coaches mark progress directly in the Member Portal.

2. Levels

Youth Ninja Level System (Ages 6–15)

Our Youth Program includes 6 Levels, each represented by a unique colored shirt.
Level Color Summary

1 White Learning the basics of ninja movement & safety
2 Grey Building grip, swinging control & obstacle pacing
3 Yellow Developing balance, laches basics, precision control
4 Orange Intermediate obstacle flow & dynamic transitions
5 Green Advanced linking, strategy & speed
6 Green/Black Elite youth — competition ready; leadership potential

*Youth may transition into the Adult Program at age 16 (with coach approval).

Adult Ninja Level System (Ages 16+)

The Adult Program includes 5 mastery levels:
Level Color Summary

1 White Foundations—grip, balance, body control, intro flow
2 Blue Strong technique, obstacle flow, advanced swings
3 Purple Intermediate mastery; teaching & leadership introduction
4 Brown High-level skill refinement and course complexity
5 Black Expert level — national/world competition proficiency

Adults progress through mastery, consistency, and coach evaluation.

3. Skills Testing

Each level includes a large pool of skills, appropriate for that stage of training.
Every other month, athletes complete a Skills Test featuring:
5 selected skills chosen from their level
Skills change each testing cycle
Easy-to-track progress in the Member Portal
Coaches update each athlete’s progress as skills are mastered.

Athletes do not need to pass all skills at once — progress is gradual and cumulative.
Once all skills for the level are completed, the athlete becomes eligible for the Level-Up Test.

4. Level-Up Test

The Level-Up Test is the final assessment for each level.

It includes:
A short obstacle course
Skills and movements pulled from that level’s required abilities
A focus on flow, control, safety, and confidence

Passing the Level-Up Test earns:

✅ Rights to the next Level Shirt
✅ Advancement to the next level
✅ Recognition during class
